ROMEO
& JULIET (2002)
Photgrapher - Terry Manzo
“Do you know one of the things I love best in the
Theatre? It’s sitting there watching a performer
suddenly break through and turn into a star… Normally
Benvolio is one of the dullest roles in Romeo &
Juliet. He’s Romeo’s friend who doesn’t get the point
the joke, or the girl.
That’s why I was so surprised
to find myself watching Marshall every second he was
on stage as Benvolio during the show’s opening at
Stratford. …He played it beautifully, full of empathy
for his buddy and full of horror as the violence takes
over. All done without stepping out of bounds or
overshadowing his colleagues.”
